1. Feb 03, 2013  Autotune in Ableton Live I have recently found that artists like kid cudi use autotune frequently for vocals, but do not use them for the 'T-Pain' effect. This has inspired me to start using this effect in my mixes, however I can't find a way to correct the pitch in Ableton.
2. X42 Auto-Tune X42 Auto-Tune is a simple autotuner based on the zita-at1 by Fons Adriaensen. It’s much better if you use it as a light tonal fixer over a full-on robotic autotuner. It works by resampling the material fed into it and then looping the signal. It does not have any formant correction capabilities.
3. Oct 30, 2010  I use Autotune with Live 8 on a Windows XP Pro system. In my experience any latency problems have NOT been related to Autotune - rather proper tweaking of buffer sizes via the Live Preferences, using ASIO4All instead of the MMX drivers for my sound card, and (the biggie) making sure to turn off the annoying Windows audio 'feature' that monitors the sound, effectively doubling/echoing.

Auto-Tune EFX+ is compatible with Ableton Live 9 (64-bit) and later on both Windows and Mac.

Auto-Tune Pro and Auto-Tune Artist are compatible with Ableton Live 9 (64-bit) on Mac in the AU format only but not on Windows.

Auto-Tune Pro and Auto-Tune Artist are compatible with Ableton Live 10 and later on Mac (in the AU and VST3 formats). They are also compatible with the Windows version of Ableton Live 10.1 (as VST3 plug-ins only), but some features like Auto-Tune Pro's Graph Mode may not be fully supported at this time.

Pitch Analysis

Pitch Tracker – This device uses the retune~ object to perform some pitch tracking from monophonic input sound. The detected pitch can be monitored using a simple monophonic synthesizer. The estimated pitch and velocity are transformed into MIDI notes, which can be sent to other devices using the MIDI outlet when the device is used in Max. In Live, we use a special MIDI-side-chaining device, called 'Max MIDI Receiver,' in order to catch MIDI data from other devices such as the present one.

Vocoding

Mono Vocoder – A dual-mono vocoder. This device uses the retune~ object to force a monophonic signal to a given pitch, thus acting like a vocoder device. Pitch correction can be tweaked with some dedicated parameters, according to the type of sound that is processed.

Poly Vocoder – 10 notes/20 voices vocoder. This device is similar to the Mono vocoder device, but uses a polyphonic patch structure, thus allowing multiple harmonizations. Autotuna – A scale-based microtonal auto-tuner that can use Scala files. This device uses the retune~ object to tune the audio to a given scale. Scales can be either entered by hand, or loaded from Scala files – a file format for musical tunings that is a standard for exchange of scales. Learn more about Scala.
